ESU 58420 LokSound 5 DCC 8 pin decoder

DCCSound Premium speaker for the PSM 422 class

DCCSound Large LED pack (x2) with 3D printed light mounts for 422 class

The model is disassembled by removing coupler assemblies 4 screws from the underside of the chassis, inside the bogie area. The body is then lifted off the chassis.

The model as built by Samhongsa comes with globes and a DC lighting board in the roof which are removed such that LEDs can be fitted, directly wired to the decoder.

Next, the track pickup and motor wiring is reworked to be DCC compatible.

The speaker is fixed to body with double sided tape. The decoder is hardwired and fixed in place as pictured below. Two small 2 pin plug/sockets are wired in to permit future removal of the body from chassis for maintenance purposes.

LEDs are fitted to the body and finally, the body assembly is placed back down over the chassis and four small screws refitted.
