Items used:
ESU 58429 LokSound 5 DCC 21-MTC decoder
DCCSound Premium sugarcube speakers to suit Auscision 45 class
To access the 21 pin plug, the body is removed from the chassis. Turn the model upside down and remove the coupler assemblies, 2 screws next to each coupler and set aside in a safe place.
Then, gently lift the body off from the chassis.
Next, remove the Auscision speaker enclosure via two small screws securing it to the metal chassis. Use these two screws to mount the DCCSound premium speaker to the chassis.
Then fit the speaker to the chassis in the short hood. It is held in place to the light tower using double sided tape and a small amount of CA glue.
Once the speakers have been fitted, plug the decoder in, noting its orientation.
The two speaker wires below the cab are close to the drive-cup and should be protected with kapton tape:
1) Place a small square on the back of the sticky side. This means the tape won't stick to the drive cup.
2) Drape the tape from one side of the chassis to the other side, over the top of the drive cup and fix in place.
3) Place the wires on top of the placed tape, then hold in position with two small pieces of tape.
Gently place the body back onto the chassis and refit the prior removed screws and couplers.
