VR Y class by Haskell (O scale)

ESU 58325 LokSound 5 L DCC decoder

DCCSound Premium twin driver sugarcube speaker for O scale Y class


First, the body is removed from the chassis via 8 small screws.


The Haskell motherboard is removed to enable room for the LokSound decoder, while two leads weights are unscrewed and removed. Here, the speaker will reside.

This particular motor had an aftermarket "NWSL Stanton" drive (DC), with motor and track pickup wires needing to be separated for use with a DCC decoder.


Front and rear headlights, along with the 4 marker lights are hardwired with resistors to the decoder mount board. The speaker is wired to the decoder mount board.

The motor and track pickup wires are fitted with micro connectors enabling separation of body from chassis for future maintenance.


The body is refitted to the chassis and model tested.

This particular model was programmed with DCCSound's 1st series VR Y class sound project.
